Business Development Manager – Architectural Ironmongery & Fire Door Solutions

Midlands | Hybrid (1 day office-based)

SFR Recruitment Solutions are working on an exciting opportunity for an experienced Business Development Manager within the architectural ironmongery and fire door sector.

This is a senior, commercially driven role focused on developing new business, managing key accounts, and delivering technical solutions across the commercial construction market.

The Role

  • Identify and secure new business opportunities with:
    • Door manufacturers
    • Fire door installers
    • Contractors, joinery firms, and specialist fit-out companies
  • Promote and sell:
    • Architectural ironmongery solutions
    • Door hardware packages
    • Fire doors and compliant fire door sets
  • Manage projects from enquiry through to installation, ensuring full compliance with fire, security, and accessibility standards
  • Work closely with internal teams to produce accurate specifications and schedules
  • Build long-term relationships and develop strategic accounts
  • Deliver CPD presentations, product demonstrations, and regular customer engagement
  • Maintain a strong pipeline and report on sales activity, forecasts, and KPIs

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven sales experience within:
    • Architectural ironmongery
    • Door hardware / fire doors
    • Technical construction products
  • Strong understanding of:
    • Ironmongery scheduling
    • Fire door certifications and compliance
    • Door manufacturing processes
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
  • Excellent relationship-building and negotiation skills
  • Highly organised with strong project management capability
  • Full UK driving licence

  • Professional and confident communicator
  • Technically minded with strong problem-solving ability
