Technical Sales Manager – SFR493

Our client is one of the UK’s leading manufacturers of uPVC & aluminium windows and doors.

Reporting to:                    Sales Manager

Hours of work:                 09.00 – 18.00 Mon – Thu / 09.00 – 17.00 Fri 09.00-16.00

Develop and maintain a highly motivated and committed team, who share our company values, to enhance our customers, by delivering continual improvements to become their supplier of choice.

Summary of role:

To be responsible for developing and driving new business and existing account sales of our product range. Optimise profitable sales within current markets and develop new sales opportunities.  With a clear focus to facilitate the building of one strong brand and presence in the UK Market.

Key responsibilities

  • To identify, meet and close new business opportunities, actively achieving at least two new accounts a month which supports the business strategy.
  • Working within the Sales Team you will support the development of an outstanding customer focused sales and support organisation as well as achieving agreed financial and operational targets.
  • Develop new business accounts to deliver a 1st year annual turnover in excess of £500k
  • Establish and facilitate close working relationships with key customers, understanding their needs and what we need to do to differentiate ourselves from the competition so that we become and/or remain the supplier of choice or preferred business partner.
  • Driving existing account growth by 10% year on year through introduction of new product ranges and added value services.
  • Be responsible for executing price increases in line with cost increases and margin aspirations.
  • Ensure that customer needs are translated into operational deliverables with the sense of urgency required and recognising the different approaches and needs of each market we serve. (Trade / retail)
  • Report weekly / Monthly to the Sales Director on the sales performance and competitor activity, covering revenue, margin, selling price, competitor activity, sales mix, and identify priorities and risk.
  • To effectively use IT programmes e.g. MS office, Teams, outlook, word, Excel and CRM systems.
  • Ensure that all company operating values and compliance procedures are adhered to at all times, including Quality Management, Health & Safety, Legal stipulation, Environmental policies and general Duty of Care.

Technical Sales Manager – MR238

Midlands and South England

Door Hardware Manufacturer 

Open to candidates from a variety of backgrounds. 

40/50k base salary. Quarterly Bonus & Car Allowance. 

To manage, maintain and convert all new and existing projects and quotes held within the company quote bank, ensuring an upward growth curve. 

To systematically grow relationships with our Architects, Interior Designers, Main & Sub Contractor customer base while providing a high level of customer service. 

  • Develop and maintain relationships with Key Architects in your area.
  • Influence hardware specifications using the company product portfolio.
  • Follow up on all new Leads, Projects & Quotes received 
  • Track all projects and outstanding quotes from the design and specification stage through to negotiation and procurement.
  • Manage a number of active and spending accounts.
  • Record all Sales activities on the company CRM system.
  • Keep all accounts on the CRM up to date (names, star rating, address and social media etc.)
  • Ensure all project “Required by” and “Completion Dates” are kept up to date.
  • Submit project case studies regularly.
  • Prepare annual sales budget forecasts.
  • Assist with marketing initiatives.
  • Present an allotted amount of Company CPD Presentations annually. 
  • Keep up to date with technical knowledge and reviewing professional publications.
  • Proactively work alongside an allocated Internal Sales member to ensure your quotes within your quote bank, at whatever stage, are continually followed up, reporting current and next actions clearly

Technical Sales Manager (DAS) SMARTair MR217

A vacancy for a Technical Sales Manager (DAS) SMARTair reporting to the Product & Technical Manager, Digital Access Solutions has arisen. The is a field based, UK wide role.

The Technical Sales Manager will be responsible for developing, driving and supporting the sales and commercial strategy from SMARTair access control portfolio of products marketed by the company via the identification and development of robust business relationships with System Integrators, Software Partners for booking systems etc, and End Users. SMARTair is a wireless AC system within the wider Digital Access Solutions (DAS) portfolio of Abloy UK.

Key responsibilities and duties include:

To develop co-ordinate and support sales of SMARTair access control system / products / services marketed by the company, across the UK and Ireland.

To promote, specify, and sell software-based access solutions using a consultative approach towards integration and understanding of existing customer business processes, and the return on investment thereof.

Specific focus on building partnerships with software integration companies, utilising and strengthening use of APIs.

Alongside senior management, develop and implement the commercial strategy for SMARTair access controls systems.

To develop new business within end user clients within multiple sectors as identified e.g commercial, retail, health, education, industrial, government.

Working closely with the sales teams targeting end users (regionally and vertically) to identify, qualify, negotiate, and close new business.

Establishing and growing a robust network of SMARTair access control dealers that can both target new business, and support the business generated through our salesforce and marketing activities.

Ensuring the assigned network is educated and understanding of the capabilities regarding solutions available with the offering including integration options enhance applications, and finance models.

Fully utilising current relationships with dealer network to generate new business and provide support in downstream sales activities.

To prepare and deliver technical sales presentations, CPD events, and demonstrations showing the capabilities of the products, and possibilities for bespoke solutions.

Working with Marketing and Product Management Teams to promote the right messages into the right sectors and raise product awareness.

Providing accurate forecasting and activity information to senior management / appropriate parties on an agreed basis, and forecast future trends.

Monitoring CRM system for customers and projects.

Working effectively with other members of the company to identify opportunities that provide the best overall solutions and deliver world-class service.

The Ideal Candidate Will

Have a proven record of selling products and technology solutions in the electronic security or building management sectors.

Advanced technical sales skills gained in B2B environment.

Have knowledge and experience of dealing with UK access control systems and integrators (highly desirable).

A solid understanding of wired and wireless networks and infrastructures.

Possess robust client management skills.

Excellent interpersonal communication skills.

A strong overall IT know-how with a good working knowledge of server, database and desktop platforms.

A valid UK driving licence.
