About the role

Key Account Manager

The successful candidate will be tasked to retain and develop business within the existing account base and find new and profitable business through direct supply, and via business partners. Reporting directly to Sales Director he/she will be expected to identify business opportunities and develop long term relationships with both customers and colleagues.

The UK network consists of Builders, Agricultural & Engineers merchants, DIY, Electrical wholesalers. In addition distribution & sales into Locksmiths, Architectural Ironmongers, Security Installers, System Integrators and other Security Suppliers.

JOB DESCRIPTION/DUTIES

To take ownership of designated geographical area for sales and business development and achieve agreed sales objectives.

Service existing accounts to maximise full business potential by securing all relevant sales opportunities.

Using your own initiative, explore and uncover new business opportunities within the region. This can include Glenigan, historical business data, networking, email campaigns, industry professional social media platforms etc.

Regular face to face meetings with new and potential customers to build and strengthen relationships to gain enquires and secure business.

Record all customer interaction on Calwin including meetings, emails, enquiries, project progress and contact details.

Work with the internal sales office to support their activities and liaise daily to ensure a firm understanding of all area activity.

Attend exhibitions as an exhibitor and/or as a visitor to gain knowledge and network with existing or potential customers.

Forecast and report on area activity to assist in the UK and business strategy.

Attend sales meetings and contribute with competitor and regional market intelligence.

Complete and submit all mileage records monthly, along with any reasonable and agreed expenses as required.

Specification Sales Manager – SFR386

Our client is an established and leading supplier of Architectural Ironmongery and Hardware products to the Construction sector.  

To manage and maintain all new and existing projects and quotes held within the company quote bank.

Nurture relationships with our Architects, Interior Designers and Contractor customers.

Key Skills

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a Specification or management role
    • Dip GAI preferred
    • Ability to write and prepare an ironmongery schedule
